The Morning Metropolitan

Clock on P St. by M.V. Jantzen.

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:

  • Steel beams are being installed at 1290 Wisconsin, dispelling any suspicions that Apple has decided to pull out.
  • Metrobuses appear to be running normal routes as of today, but congestion on Wisconsin may force some of the 30 series buses to reroute through the East Village.
  • Reports that the old snow totals for Washington used to be measured at Georgetown is yet another example of journalistic laziness (it was really in the West End).

The D2 is still not running in Glover Park. The bus stops at Whitehaven and 35th and then loops back to Dupont. The D1 was running its entire route this morning, but got stuck in a snow drift for about 20 minutes. The bus driver then informed us that tomorrow the D1 will also be stopping at Whitehaven and 35th. This information is not provided on metro’s website (from what I can see anyways), and is only announced on pieces of paper attached to random bus shelters.

Stacey, that information is available at:

It looks like as of tonight the D1 and the D2 is still screwed up. So is the G2.
