The Morning Metropolitan

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:

  • Tony Hawk stopped by the Apple store yesterday.
  • P St. Pictures kicked out so 7-11 can get a little bigger.

Sorry to see a non-chain store pushed out. Really miss the consignment shop (and that space remains unoccupied). Also concerned that a bigger 7-11 poses a threat to Scheele’s and Sara’s. Already worried about Sara’s — half-empty shelves suggest the place is struggling. If owners are stocking only to meet immediate demand, it’s undermining the appeal of the store. And I really love having the mom-and-pop stores in the neighborhood — a real asset.
