Ginkgogate Continues!!!

Ginkgogate Continues

The last several days have been unseasonably balmy. Stepping out on the sidewalk and taking in a deep breath, for a moment you almost can smell spring. But then…wait a minute. That’s not spring that you smell. You can still smell the god damn ginkgos! They’re still on the trees and on our sidewalks! While the last month or so has meant a frosty casing around that butanoic acid, this early thaw has meant release for this putrid substance.

This unprecedented ginkgo-berry season is due to a failed attempt to limit the berrys’ production by DC’s Urban Forestry Administration. Instead of using the only kind-of successful method of spraying the trees, the city injected them with some sort of a vitamin C serum.  Now they seem to be stronger then ever and we’re left with more berries than we can clear off our sidewalks.

It’s worth noting that the ice ages started when one winter’s snow simply never melted over the summer. It just sat there and accumulated year after year, reflecting more and more of the sun’s heat back out into space and accelerating the cycle. Eventually almost the whole Earth was one big ice ball.

This is not to suggest that were entering a Ginkgo Berry Age. But it’s not not suggesting it.
