Keep the Whitehurst up!
Don’t give in to Lanier and his cronies and try to tear it down so his hotel will have better views from the windows.
When the waterfront floods, one can always escape via the Whitehurst!
Flooding escape routes isn’t one of the defenses I’ve yet heard for keeping the Whitehurst.
For a long time I’ve been meaning to do a post on the Whitehurst, I just haven’t got around to it. Personally I’m ambivalent about it. I see benefits both to keeping it or removing it. I guess I should just finally write that post and spell those arguments out…
