Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- GM’s always been suspicious about how many homes are listed as being build it 1900, now it turns out his suspicion was justified. Jerry McCoy of the Peabody Collection chats with WBJ and points out that 1900 is the default for any building built before 1877 or when the construction date is unknown.
- Friend of GM and fellow Georgetown blogger Carol Joynt has fought many battles in her life, but the next one might be her toughest: cancer.
The Georgetown Metropolitan 
The photograph shows brightly colored row houses that makeup Prospect Street right around the corner from the 1789 Restaurant. These homes were residences of the Irish immigrants who came here to build the C&O Canal.

The whole row is owned by GU, and for years they were all painted white. Somebody in the off-campus property department is whimsical enough to broaden the palette. Good.
