Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Developer Jair Lynch says “people in Congress Heights spend about $25/week on groceries while in Georgetown people spend $125/week.” That’s about twice GM’s bill (for two people). How about you?
- Biker hit at Reservoir and Wisconsin. Thankfully injuries appear minor. Not clear who, if anyone, is at fault, but it’s obvious to anyone that this is a dangerous intersection that DDOT really ought to reconfigure somehow.

I feel like I eat out for every meal yet still somehow manage to spend way more than $125 per week for the two of us. And that doesn’t include wine. Not sure what I am buying but wonder if I should start getting it in Columbia Heights…
I find our grocery bill for two winds up around $100 a week or more, but a lot of that goes to items like laundry detergent or toilet paper, or to planning for a dinner party or two per week.
Yes, me and my wife spend nearly $100 every week if not more. We also eat out about once or twice a week too. Jair is correct.

It is a very dangerous intersection. Wasn’t a child killed there by a car a few months ago? Generally, people are very cautious, but it remains dangerous and GM is correct that it should be re-configured.
