The Morning Metropolitan

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:

  • It’s the summer of Riesling at Bourbon Steak.
  • So that unfortunately named i-Thai place is still coming, eh? (It’s unfortunate because it sounds like some late 90s-Internet-Go-Go joint, and all the blandness that that implies. That it’s other location is in Tyson’s only reinforces that impression.)

Dude, you’re killing me with your negative attitude on the Thai place. It’s owned by a Thai family and their place in Ashburn (where the local ethnic food is MUCH better than DC) gets great reviews for the authentic food. How many good, family owned ethnic restaurants for local pickup are there in Georgetown? How many are opening rather than closing? This is going to be awesome to have in the neighborhood and you should be celebrating–and telling your readers to try it out–rather than complaining (erroneously) that it’s Johnny Rockets or something.

Ha, fair enough. It’s really the name that’s bugging me. But I’ll give them a chance.

Dear lord! It’s other branch is in Tysons? As in VIRGINIA?! Disgusting! Does CAG know about this?!
