Trying to catch a glimpse into other peoples’ homes is the unofficial pastime of Georgetown and its high season is upon us. The legendary Georgetown House Tour will take place April 25th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are available now. If you buy them before the 19th, they’ll set you back $40, after that date it’ll be $45. More, including a list of the homes on the tour, after the jump:
Here’s a list of the Elect:
- The Adlers – 1241 28th St.
- The Beards – 3107 N St.
- The Beimlers – 3131 N St.
- Robert Laycock and Thomas Vogt – 3258 O St.
- The Loys – 3230 Reservoir Rd.
- Edward Machir – 3400 P St.
- The Markhams – 1334 31st St.
- The Powells – 1409 31st St.
- Patience O’Conner and James Wooten – 1600 Avon Pl.
- The Pryors – 3630 Prospect St.
- The Taylors – 1249 35th St.
If just trudging through opulent homes isn’t enough for you, you can take part in the traditional Parish Tea in Blake Hall of St. John’s from 2:00 to 5:00. You’ll probably end up over there anyway since the last home on the tour this year is St. John’s Rectory, which is also the “Design House” house. It’s a bit over the top for GM’s taste, but maybe that’s just him. Entrance is covered by the price of your House Tour ticket (normally you’d have to pay $20 to get into the Design House).
Lastly, if you want to participate in one of the “highlights of the social season” you simply must buy tickets to the Patrons’ Party, which are a cool $150 each. If it’s your lifelong dream to appear on the pages of Washington Life, this is probably your best chance this year. (Afterwords you should probably search for a more worthwhile lifelong dream…)
