First Look: The North Face

First Look: The North Face

The North Face store (3333 M St.) opened two weeks ago. GM finally stopped by to check it out and snap a few photos. Check them out, and GM’s first take after the jump:

The North Face Entrance

The layout of the store is well done. They took the vast space that was originally built for an ill-fated furniture store and filled it nicely without having to make any major changes (one large section of the original store has been segmented off and is being offered for rent by East Banc).

Sleeping Bags

The store has all the fleeces and anoraks that you’d expect to find at a North Face store, but it also offers some actual camping equipment. There are some sleeping bags, backpacks, and other items, but the selection is pretty narrow. GM doubts any actual camper would try to stock up here instead of a place like REI. The equipment at the North Face store seems more like a token to burnish the reputation of the fleeces and anoraks that they will actually end up selling.

I Can't Lower My Arms.

Although if you’re looking for the warmest full-body suit on the planet, they’ve got it.

Tether

And if you’ve got a very large child you need to embarrass with a leash, they’ve got you covered.

Kids Section

Or if you’re kids are just normal sized, they’ve got you covered too.

I think you meant ‘leash’ not ‘lease’.

“And if you’ve got a very large child you need to embarrass with a lease….”

Ha. I have signed a couple embarrassing leases before, but you’re right.
