My wife and I just moved to Georgetown, and I see the posting about guy going crazy on 3000 block of Q St, which is where we live. Does anyone know any more about this? Our first day walking around, we met a lady with a bag over her hand who claimed to be the former head of FEMA under Clinton (not true) and that someone had broke into her house last night (she lives on same block). Would appreciate any replies, thanks.

    J,
Welcome to the neighborhood! I can’t say I know much about any fabulist ex-FEMA directors, but I will say that burglaries happen with some regularity in Georgetown (probably about 2-3 a month). My understanding, however, is that most burglaries occur because someone left a door unlocked or even open. If you take proper precautions, you can diminish the likelihood that you’ll be a victim.

I’m following up on the beserker item. My suspicion is that it was a patient in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Thanks, appreciate your reply and your advice about precautions. The lady at Sarah’s market said the same thing.

If you find out more about the crazy person please post it. This is a great blog by the way!
