I was gonna write you a long comment on how great your coverage is of this important issue….however, I’m scared to have my snowy sidewalk show up on here, so I’m off to shovel!
In all seriousness, there are some very important and fundamental issues raised by this whole deal and I think you are right to insist that an open and transparent process trumps political expediency. I see that our elected ANC Commissioners have rejected the closed-door process that gave Maret this sweetheart deal, and I’m waiting to hear what Mayor Fenty and the City Council have to say.
As educators often say, “this is a teachable moment.” What lesson will be taught?
