On Sunday, GM stopped by the inaugural Georgetown Waterfront Summer Celebration and took the video above. He couldn’t stick around for the water balloon free-for-all, but WTOP did:
The event seemed to be a big success and will likely be back next year. The event fits nicely into the BID’s annual schedule of festivals, each one focusing on a different geographic section of the neighborhood (Taste of Georgetown – lower Wisconsin; Merriment – middle Wisconsin; French Market – upper Wisconsin).

Thanks for the great video, GM, and we are glad you could come out for it. Since this was the first, we didn’t know what to expect but turns out we probably had at least 250 participate in the multiple ‘heats’ of the water balloon toss between the kiddie heats and the adult heats. We’re thrilled! On another note, there’s one other BID-sponsored major event that we do in addition to the ones you listed, that just started last year — Fashion’s Night Out. It’s on Sept. 8th this year and is held throughout the neighborhood at over 80+ Georgetown stores. http://www.fashionsnightoutgeorgetowndc.com Thanks!
Gee GM, you wimped out!
Ha, Charlie you’ll have to point out where you are in that melee.
