Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Great old photo showing the awful waterfront parking lot that is now the wonderful waterfront park.
- If you can’t wait for Einstein’s to return to upper Wisconsin (GM heard they are, but hasn’t received confirmation) you can head over to GU (or do you need a student id to get in there?).

Einstein just signed (officially) a lease up in Glover Park… They are taking over the old Fan Fair/Vespa space and will open in a few months which, as it happens, is right across from the new Sweet Green location which is moving in to where Body Smith was… Also in GP news, the new Vietnamese restaurant Sprig and Sprout (in the old Margarita’s space/2317 Wisconsin) is opening in about a week… Next up… JP’s (reopening winter 2013?).
It will be interesting to see if Einstein opening in Glover Park forces Brueggers to up their game. (The Safeway-adjacent spot seems like a better location for Einsteins, but I suppose they know what they’re doing). I hope something else good comes into the Safeway stripmall, to round out the Noodles & Company/Drybar combo.
Definitely excited about Sweetgreen, and anything else that opens on the lower end of the Glover Park strip, as they help knit together Georgetown/Burleith and GP, and reduce the number of pedestrian dead-zones on that stretch of Wisconsin.
On the other side of Georgetown, saw that Annie Creamcheese closed and posted a sign that they’re moving to LA. Quite a few open spaces in that strip, now. Maybe Good Stuff will be the boost that it needs
