Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Big house at 31st and P finally sold.
- GU students are trying to get all riled up about the campus plan again, but at this point it just seems kind of rote. Maybe GM is just too nostalgic for the old days when the plan was still actually being debated (i.e. two years ago).

I wouldn’t say it’s rote – more like, some of the students who are now two years older or newly in college are starting to pay attention to such matters and are starting to realize what the implications of the concessions to the Pitchfork Brigade fully entail. The riling up last time ended with a whimper, not a bang: the University gave in and compromised on a bunch of stuff. Kind of reminds me of the current shutdown and Tea Party/House GOP/Senate Dems/Obama standoff, actually.
Anyway, just wait until the students realize that the new, neighbor-mandated Dupont GUTS route is going to take 45 minutes to actually get to Dupont Circle during rush hour. Then they’ll really be agitated.
That rerouting is ridiculous, I think 45 minutes during rush hour is optimistic!
