Pottery Center Coming to Blues Alley

A new pottery classroom/studio will be opening soon on Blues Alley. Signs for Hinckley Pottery are up and the website confirms the move (they were in Adams Morgan).

The studio has been around more than 40 years and was at its Adams Morgan location for 25 years. Actually opening in Georgetown is a return for owner Jill Hinckley, who moved here and set up a studio in the late 1960s.

The studio will offer classes and event space, as well as studio space for six resident potters.

They are occupying the former stables next door to the Blues Alley jazz club. It’s a fascinating space that has been empty for at least a decade. GM didn’t even think it had any utilities in it, but obviously they do, at least now.

Should be a great addition to the neighborhood!
