For months now, construction at the Volta Park recreation center has left in doubt the question of whether the facilities would be ready for the pool season, which starts this weekend.
Well, as of Sunday the fences are down and the pool is already full of water. GM didn’t receive verification, but it sure looks ready to go.
We are blessed in Georgetown with two outdoor pools. But if one were to be closed, the other would likely be quickly overwhelmed with swimmers on the weekend. So it’s fantastic to see that has almost certainly been avoided!
That said, it is sure to be some pretty cold water this weekend! So be prepared to be a little brave if you want to take your first dip as soon as the doors open this weekend.
