Georgetown Does So-So in Post’s List of Top Restaurants

Last week, the Washington Post released its annual Fall Dining Guide, a list of the city’s top restaurants according to the paper’s top restaurant reviewer, Tom Sietsema. And unsurprisingly, Georgetown only did so-so. Which is not that bad really! Washington has become a great dining city, with superlative restaurants in neighborhoods all across DC.

So which Georgetown restaurants cracked the top 100?

Well, Sietsema only “ranks” the top ten, and none of the Georgetown establishments make that cut. But in the next 90 spots there are two restaurants: Chez Billy Sud and Fiola Mare.

Does a place like 1789 get docked points for basically being the same place year-after-year? Probably. Also, it’s worth noting that Rose Luxury, the hottest hot restaurant of just a few years ago is listed in the group of restaurants that didn’t even make the top 100. So take it with a grain of salt!
