GM is always haranguing you to water your street trees. Well now consider the haranguing elevated to vociferous haranguing. Other than a light drizzle yesterday, and a possible downpour today, it has has basically not rained at all in DC for over a month.
That is really bad! And unusual! And it’s really bad for street trees especially. So please, please, please: if you have a relatively young tree on your block, water it at least 20 gallons every week. That means filling the tree bag, if it has one, or letting a hose lightly water the roots for a half and hour.
Even mature trees could probably use a drink right now. So once you’ve watered any young trees on your block, consider leaving a hose dribbling in a mature tree’s box too.
