Bust out the quinceanera dress, the Georgetown Metropolitan turns 15 years old today! I started up this website on December 13, 2008 and never thought it remotely possible that it would be still going this long. In fact, I’m just a couple years from surpassing the original run of the Metropolitan, which lasted from 1820 to 1837.
People often ask me how I keep it up, but really it’s no different from any hobby. Whether you collect baseball cars, or knit, play pickleball, whatever, it takes time, but it’s time you mostly enjoy spending. I still enjoy (mostly) spending the time to keep this up. (And really, it’s not that much time. I got it down to a science a long time ago). So I hope you all enjoy it too! Here’s to another 15!

The most error-free read around: deep research mixed with familiarity. My favorite part of the morning is reading the Georgetown Metropolitan!
Congratulations, Topher, on a job beautifully won! And thank you.
Thanks for uncovering these wonderful pieces from the METROPOLITAN. And congratulations on your anniversary. Always appreciate what you share on life in this great community.
Thank you for doing this. It is a great contribution to our community.
