If the opening of the National Pinball Museum this Saturday wasn’t enough to get you excited, don’t forget that the annual Merriment in Georgetown is this Sunday (brain storm: while it’s probably too late now, the National Pinball Museum ought to get a booth next year.)
This is the third year of this great street festival. Last year’s success was particularly heartening since the first year’s festival suffered greatly due to extremely cold weather. With the warmer weather last year, crowds came out in force.
Here’s the schedule of this year’s events:
2 – 3pm — Special performance by Noggin’s and PBS Kids’acclaimed kids rock band Milkshake
2:15pm — Santa arrives!
3:15 – 3:45pm — Georgetown Phantoms, a cappella group from Georgetown University
3:55 – 4:10pm — Holy Trinity School Choir
4:15 – 5pm — Candlelight caroling with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC
5:30pm — 5th Annual Tree Lighting at Washington Harbour
6:00pm — Boat Parade of Lights at Washington Harbour
Throughout the festival horse drawn carriage rides will be offered through the neighborhood. And bring your shopping list, since shops up and down Wisconsin will be offering great deals.
This is a great day for the neighborhood. See you there!
