I like a half-smoke as much as anyone and Ben’s Chili Bowl is an important DC institution but it is a little remarkable that Obama took Angela Merkel to 1789 while Sarkozy and Carla Bruni got Ben’s.
I hope that Obama takes the next head of state who visits for street-meat from one of our fine food trucks.
Why would you take the German head of state to a German restaurant in America? Look, Chancellor, we try to imitate your cuisine! They’re visiting the U.S., so you show them things that are quintessentially American.
