Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Nice profile of the new Dogtag Bakery.
- Jack Evans is now serving on the WMATA Board, could that lead him to focus the organization on Metro expansion to Georgetown?

It’s an interesting question. I’m not sure how much money there is to be made off of it – the parts of the separated Blue Line that would go through Ward 2 are largely built out. Moreover, most of them are near enough to existing transit that the property value bump wouldn’t be as great as in other places.
On the other hand, for ambitious and high-value stuff like Burnham Place to happen, you pretty much have to have something like the separating Blue Line. And becoming The Guy Who Brought Metro to Georgetown would be a pretty good legacy that’d likely appeal to Jack’s ego.
All in all, I’m not especially optimistic. He’s probably too focused on bringing the Deadskins back to RFK to spent too much time worrying about Metro.
