This Friday, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of VE Day a major fleet of historic WWII planes will perform a flyby of DC and Georgetown will get a front row seat.
At approximately noon, the planes will fly down the Potomac River right by Georgetown. They will follow the river to the Lincoln Memorial at which point they will head out over the mall. After passing by the WWII Memorial and the Capitol, they will head back out over the river.
So if you’re free at noon, head on down to the Georgetown Waterfront Park and take a seat for the show. Here’s what you’ll see (grouped by the formation they’ll fly in):
