Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:

  • When the Georgetown waterfront was on fire in 1936.
  • No article mentioning it anywhere, but the Commission of Fine Arts approved the latest design for the West Heating Plant last week.

  1. The fire was at the American Chlorophyll Co. The company was established in Alexandria. In 1947, the company moved its operations to Lake Worth Florida. The use of solvents to extract chlorophyll probably contributed to the severity of the fire.
