Shop Made in DC Moves Up the Street

Shop Made in DC, the store that specializes in selling products strictly from DC-based creators, is moving its Georgetown location up the street a bit. The store, which opened last year at 1242 Wisconsin, shipped its goods up to 1533 Wisconsin Ave. over the weekend. It will reopen at the new location Thursday.

The new space is the former Artists Proof Gallery. And it’s a really beautiful space inside, as you can see in its previous role:

The building the shop is vacating is now owned by Eastbanc, which has plans to redevelop the property. Eastbanc also owns the new location, so presumably it was a win-win for both parties. Although the new location is a bit away from the tourist traffic of lower Wisconsin. Hopefully locals will make up the difference by buying local fare!
