
Georgetown is the place to be in December, as rows of lovely homes are lit up with twinkling lights and festive greenery. And if you really want your celebrations to be at 11, you ought to check out some of the fabulous events throughout the month. Here are a couple:
Santa at Volta Park
Santa is returning to Volta Park December 9th this year! No longer a breakfast affair, this celebration will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Here are some more details:
Happy holidays in the park returns on December 9 so be sure to save the date. We’ll host Santa from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., with hot chocolate and other treats for all of our friends and neighbors! Don’t miss your chance to attend this neighborhood favorite and snap a pic with jolly old Saint Nick!
Merriment in Georgetown
Elizabeth Miller is organizing a new event for the season called Merriment in Georgetown December 11th. It will be a festive caroling affair along R St.:

Holidays at Tudor Place
Tudor Place is host events throughout the month, including a bunch of special candlelight tours of the historic home. Walk the elegant home and learn how the residents and workers there celebrated Christmas in 1880. (Check the website for dates and times).
Also, they will be hosting a Gingerbread Workshop for kids on the 17th.
If these events can’t get you in the spirit, expect a few spectral guests on Christmas Eve!!
