Last year I made a video documenting the ten oldest shops and restaurants in Georgetown. Here it is, in case you missed it:
But I was mistaken in my compiling. I recently realized I missed a shop! Namely I left off Georgetown Hairstyling on 35th St. It dates to 1913. Here’s a real estate listing asking for tenants to come in an run the shop, dated January 1, 1913:
It opening in 1913 ties it with Morgan’s as the third oldest in Georgetown. (Obviously one opened before the other in 1913, but I don’t know which, so let’s just call it a tie).
With this correction, sadly the Phoenix falls out of the ten oldest list. And so the updated top ten is as follows:
