All The New and Closed Establishments

The central part of my annual census of commercial establishments is to take a periodic snap shot of all stores that have opened or closed over the course of (roughly) a year. And as I discussed on Monday, this past year has been a busy one on the openings front. Here are all the new stores I counted:

There may have been places that opened and closed between counts, but since I take a snapshot approach, I miss those. That said, I can’t think of any such examples. Also, I sometimes get it wrong about closures (and then get angry letters from owners claiming they only *appear* closed). So please let me know if I got any wrong!

    Say Cheese thankfully didn’t close – just moved a block west into the space next to the Graham on Thomas Jefferson. Sandwiches still delicious!
