Even before the hurricane hits, the Potomac at Georgetown could see some moderate flooding. NOAA predicts that at the Georgetown waterfront, the water level will peak during tomorrow night’s high tide (a little after 8:00 pm). The expected level is just over 9 feet.
That’s below the levels the river hit back in May. So don’t expect any dramatic flooding. But with a potentially historic hurricane following right after this swell recedes, there is potential for some far more serious flooding by this weekend. Continue reading

A Mexican restaurant named Pica Taco is coming to 3206 O St. This space previously hosted Gtown Bites, which itself took over for the longer lasting Georgetown Dinette.
Pica Taco has one other location over on Florida Ave. near 14th St. It sells mostly take out food, which appears to be standard Mexican-American fare. It has mixed reviews on Yelp, for what it’s worth. Continue reading
