Hurt House Meeting Announced
The Office of the Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development announced a community meeting for December 1st at 7:00 to discuss the planned development of the historic Hurt Home at 3050 R St.
The best part of the meeting? Attend it and you get a rare chance to see the inside of the Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel:

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Last Saturday, a mugger held up a pedestrian on the 3200 block of Reservoir. When he walked away with the victim’s wallet, the victim started to call the cops. The mugger saw this and ran back and stole the phone too and got away. Cheers to the victim for making an effort to call the cops as soon as possible. While it didn’t turn out as planned, GM thinks you’re awfully courageous.

ANC Preview
While your belt may still be a few notches too tight from Thanksgiving, the ANC will still be back and open for business next Monday night. The agenda was released yesterday, and while it’s not quite the cornucopia that last month’s was, it’s still got some interesting topics.
Georgetown Theater Sign
Apparently there is an application pending with the Old Georgetown Board regarding the, well, old Georgetown Theater neon sign. Hopefully it means that the owners, the Heon family, are planning on restoring the iconic sign to its former glory. As reported here, the building was put up for sale this summer. GM wonders where this application fits into that plan. Continue reading

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Peggy Cooper Cafritz’s temporary apartment in Georgetown suffered a small fire. She’s staying there as she recovers from her mansion burning down in July.
- Demolition is moving swiftly on the old French Connection building. The Apple Store is scheduled to be open next March.
