Just in time to supply your New Year’s resolutions, City Sports will be opening its new Georgetown location next Tuesday. It will be located at 3338 M St (which you may remember as an illegal billboard).
With the addition of the Boston-based City Sports, the west end of Georgetown is getting saturated with sporting goods stores. There’s Lululemon, The Georgetown Running Co., and now this.
GM’s an ex-high school XC guy. So he’ll continue to get his running gear from the Georgetown Running Co. since it’s staffed with just the sort of serious distance runners who used to handily beat GM week after week many autumns ago. But City Sports offers a pretty nice array of non-running gear too, so it’ll be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Hmm, doubt it. The Dupont one sells the shirts with “Washington” on them. But you never know…
Why can’t a decent gym open up in Georgetown? I hope Equinox or Vida open here – I waste so much time driving to the Sports Club LA and I am not a fan of WSC (and can’t afford the Four Seasons!)
Traffic a little blocked this morning on M Street as CitySports has valet parking at 8:30am during rushhour for the opening.
They DO have City Sports tees with Georgetown on them. I took advantage of the valet parking, extremely cool store!!!
