what are those collections of buildings that exist on K St near Water St and under Whitehurst? Has there ever been talk of redevelopment over that way?
that mural marked the entrance to The Hibiscus Cafe, a Caribbean cuisine restaurant. I remember going on a date there before heading to The Bayou (3135 K St NW) to watch a show in the mid/late 1990s. the food was fantastic…as was the show…and the date. saw a few shows at The Bayou where bands like Foreigner, U2, and Blue Oyster Cult played. I used to check the schedule religiously for good shows to see.
