It’s been a long time coming, but the bubble tea shop planned for 1357 Wisconsin Ave. is finally opening this week. Signs on the window announce that a soft opening will start this Friday.
The restaurant will be called Taichi Tea and it’s part of a national chain. I first reported that it was coming here way back in February of last year. So it will be good to finally see it open.
While the name of the shop focuses on the bubble tea, the restaurant actually offers full meals too, including ramen and sushi. It’s always good to get casual dining options, so it will be welcome.
This opening will be a further milestone in the evolution of this block, which once was one of the most ramshackle on the strip. It’s a little hard to remember that it looked like this not that long ago:
