• Prospect St. residents trying to have the Exorcist Steps landmarked, most likely in order to block construction of a condo.
• Police investigating a hit-and-run driver who injured several GU med students.

Montrose Park

A major change is coming to Wisconsin Ave. Actually it’s a Major change, which is pretty minor really. Specifically, Major, the stylish sneaker store at 1428 Wisconsin Ave., is moving up the block to 1415 Wisconsin Ave.

GM had heard that it was a sneaker store already on Wisconsin that was going to take over the space formerly occupied by Appalachian Spring. But he didn’t know which one. A permit on the window settles it. The permit was issued to Duk-Ki Yu, the owner of Major. Continue reading →

• Canal lock finally being installed at Lock 3, which has been a major construction zone for a long time now (which really gives you a new found respect for the original construction crews.)
• The Apple Store had a visitor.

• The new Café Georgetown is opening on the 20th. It’s in a rowhouse just of Wisconsin on N St.
• A little more info on the newly opened Reverie.

A lot of people know that Dumbarton Oaks is beautiful in the spring. But GM likes to issue this annual reminder that it’s also quite lovely in the fall:

Dumbarton Oaks is well known for its spring displays of incredible seasonal bounties. But people often overlook how spectacular the acres of gardens are in the fall. Hurry up and catch it now before it’s gone.

But here’s just a taste. The wildflowers of the Herbaceous Border are breathtaking:
