BID Contracts with City to Perform Routine Repairs
The Georgetown BID announced yesterday that it was entering into a new year-long arrangement with DDOT to perform routine maintenance of the sidewalks. As CEO Joe Sternlieb explained in the release:
“There are over one million bricks on Georgetown sidewalks, some of which are loose, broken, or missing at any given time. This agreement allows DDOT to use the BID’s staff and ‘eyes on the street’ to quickly identify and fix problems on a daily basis.”

Ri Ra Closed Temporarily for Underage Sales
A sign on the front of Ri Ra announced that the restaurant is closed from January 4th through the 13th. It attributes this closure to a “serious liquor license infringement”. It then goes on to profusely apologize and promise that it won’t ever, ever, never, ever do it again.
It doesn’t actual state what the violation was but ABRA records indicate the infraction involved selling alcohol to minors. Granted it is an Irish restaurant, can’t it have authentic Irish drinking laws?
