Retail Vacancies and What to do About Them

If there’s one thing that GM gets asked about more than any one topic, it’s why are there so many retail vacancies in Georgetown? To be perfectly honest, GM has no idea why there are so many. He has a couple theories: landlords holding out for high paying tenant, the death of retail generally, or just the natural cycle of things. But those are all just guesses.

If you want a clearer answer, come on out to the joint BID-ANC event this Thursday night at the Georgetown Park Mall. After a talk on the current state of things, the group will break out into smaller groups to discuss the issues, such as what retail is desired, what can be done to facilitate their arrival, and other topics.

The event starts at 7:00, with doors opening at 6:30. It should be a great event. See you there!
