Yoga Slash Co-Working Space Coming to Wisconsin Ave.

A new co-working space is coming to 1510 Wisconsin Ave. (the former location for Luigi Parasmo Salon). But this one comes with a twist. And maybe even a human pretzel, if you’re flexible enough. The new space, called Alkōva, also offers yoga.
It’s unclear how the two will interact. GM would love it if it was expected that the customers do both simultaneously, but that’s probably not the plan. This would be the first and only location for the company, so there are no other examples to look to, but the company offers this description:

Good morning Georgetown, here’s the latest:
- Expensive cashmere apparel shop coming to the former I-Thai space. It is another in a long line of recent “Direct to Consumer” brands opening up bricks-and-mortar shops in Georgetown.
- GM’s not sure how recent the change is, but he just saw that the Safeway is back to being open 24-hours.

Tugooh Toys on the Move Again

As GM reported back in June, Shouk a Tel Aviv streetfood restaurant, is coming to 1426 Wisconsin Ave. That was until very recently the home of Tugooh Toys. Parents like GM (who are often having to get presents for birthday parties at the last minute) should be relieved: Tugooh Toys is staying in Georgetown.
As announced on the door of the now-old location, Tugooh is moving in to 1440 Wisconsin Ave. This was the location of the long shuttered Avocado Cafe (which made a decent slice of New York style pizza in GM’s opinion).

- Sometime this year, the WMATA board was supposed to pick among a few long term plans that could eventually bring Metro to Georgetown. They haven’t done so yet, but keep an eye out for it.

After a Covid-induced break, CAG’s popular Concerts in the Park return this month. Here are the details:
