Know Your Trees: Redbud
Today on Know Your Trees, GM is discussing a tree that rivals cherry trees and magnolias in terms of springtime flash: the redbud.
The redbud (or, rather, eastern redbud, to be specific) is a medium-to-small sized tree, growing only to about 30 feet. It has a spade-shaped leaf that looks like this:

- If you’ve missed the old Proper Topper shop on P St. (owned by Georgetowner Anna Furhman) it will be opening a new branch just up Wisconsin Ave. in Cathedral Commons (by the Giant) for the holidays. Check it out!
- Some sort of a performance art piece is coming to the Georgetown Waterfront Park this Saturday.

Amazon Books Appears Set to Open Early 2018

According to several job listings for positions at the planned new Amazon bookstore on M St., the store appears set to open in early 2018.
The store was announced last spring, but no opening date was also announced. There is signage up at 3040 M St., where the store will be, but that doesn’t carry a date either. Continue reading
