New Chocolate Shop Coming to Wisconsin Ave.
A new chocolate shop is coming to the former American Holiday shop at 1321 Wisconsin Ave. The store, L.A. Burdick, sells a variety of high end chocolates and other sweets. They have five locations, having started in New York, but moved to Walpole, NH, as one does. Continue reading

Murals of Georgetown
Wit the completion of the newest mural in Georgetown, GM thought it would be nice to run through the other murals around the neighborhood.
The first is the aforementioned mural, the JFK/Ich Bin Ein Berliner mural on the side of the Berliner. It was painted this month by Rodrigo Pradel.

The next mural is on the side of Just Paper and Tea at 3232 P St. It was painted in 2015 as part of a Shop Small event. It was painted by Aniekan Udofia. Continue reading

Cat Cafe Consolidating
The Georgetown cat cafe, Crumbs and Whiskers, will be moving its primary location from its original location at 3211 O St. to 3101 M St.
The M St. location is already the site of the store’s temporary kitten cafe pop-up. When that pop-up ends, the full cat cafe will consolidate there. Currently the pop-up is scheduled to run through June, so likely by July or August to O St. location will close.
This is a bit of a bummer. GM used to walk by the O St. location everyday after picking up his daughter from nursery school. Even if you’re not a “cat person” (and GM is not) you can’t help being charmed by a window full of lazy cats. Continue reading
